Kick Your Brand Marketing Off Right in 2025

If you’re like most people coming into this week, you’re counting Monday as your first official workday of the year even if you had to work a few days last week. That means it’s the perfect time to get your year off to the right start by evaluating how to make your 2025 marketing plan as successful as possible so you can start the year on the right foot.

Here are a few things you should focus on when setting yourself up for success this year and beyond.

1) Evaluate Your 2024 Stats

While you should keep an eye on all your marketing stats throughout the year, a deep dive once everything is tallied up after the ball drops on New Year’s Eve is an important step. Here are just a few of the different things you should check…

  • Social media stats: What posts were popular, which posts didn’t hit well, what platform worked the best for you, etc.

  • Website stats: See where people found your website from, what pages they visited most often, which blogs were a hit (if you have blogs), how many non-spam hits any of your content forms got, demographics of website viewers, and any other pertinent info you can use. If your website doesn’t have analytics available, sign up for an analytics plug in so you can fix that in 2025. I personally use MonsterInsights, but there are many out there.

  • Advertising: If places you advertised on the web haven’t sent you insight information on how your ads did, this is the perfect opportunity to send them an email. Businesses should be happy to provide you with that information and some will even tell you how it compared to other ads they ran in similar spots to yours.

  • Goals: Did you reach what you were hoping to in 2024? Going down the list of goals you had and seeing how close you came to achieving them (or if you had to pivot on them) helps you form a clearer picture of how the year went.

2) Make 2025 Goals

I preach this basically every post, but make sure you have clear, thought-out goals to get you where you want to go. For me personally, I write out the overarching goal for Pyrois Media’s year and then break it down by month and week. I don’t just write out an overall goal, but also certain social media milestones I want to hit, if there are places I want to advertise, projects I want to work on, courses I want to take, and more. This may seem overwhelming – especially if you are combining the goals of more than one person – but it’s better to have them written out even if they seem impossibly high.

On that point, also don’t be afraid to pivot a goal if you don’t think it’s working or even outright fail at it. That just better prepares you for next year and teaches you how to accomplish it in 2026.

3) Get Planning

Once you know what 2024 looked like and have your ideas for 2025, make a plan for each part of your business. This is another one that likely works better if you lay it out month-by-month and then break down weekly. As a bonus, it helps you see upcoming deadlines long before they arrive so you can get the content ready in your downtime.

For example, one of my goals in 2025 is to make sure I make time for my own business even in the busy season where it can be hard to sit down and put together social media posts or blogs. This is something that I admittedly struggled with in 2024, so I’m making sure that I sit down every month or two on a certain day to plan out the next few months and create anything that needs to be done. It is something that I had done in the past and moved away from without even realizing it – so if you find yourself in a similar situation, look back at past years’ actions to see how you can make life easier!

4) Make Small Changes Now

Have you wanted to change out photos on your website or update your social media cover photos? Do it now!

Small changes that can be made quickly (over just a few hours) that don’t have to be done at a certain time should be knocked out while you’re thinking about it. That means there’s no time like the present to do whatever needs to be done so you don’t have it taking up a place on your to-do list for the next few weeks or months.

If you have some time to spare, it may also be the perfect time to make a photo folder of photos you think will work well for your company. That will make your life much easier in coming months when you’re in a rush, but have to put together a post, because you can just grab one from the folder instead of wasting valuable time trying to find something that will work in the moment.
