When thinking of services to add when I started Pyrois Media, it was a lot of trial and error. While a few have been combined over the years and one has evolved from development to management, the services I offered when I started the company five years ago are the ones still offered today.
All five were created to with making clients’ lives easier in mind while upping their online presence – something that is incredibly important in today’s life with 75% of internet using social media to research brands according to Datareportal – and I can honestly say they’re all ones that I enjoy doing year after year. If you’re curious about the services I settled on in 2018, read on to learn what each service is and why I offer it.
Content Creation
One of my biggest passions is writing stories – I even went to university for a journalism degree – and that is exactly what my content creation service was created for. I still do quite a bit of freelance journalism work while also writing marketing-type pieces for clients, which is the perfect mix.
At Pyrois Media, this service is mostly used by stallion farms and breeders who utilize their websites to inform people about winners they’ve bred or successes by their stallions’ offspring. Also utilized by a state-bred program, this isn’t only a race or sale recap service – I also write plenty of features on various equine related topics, most falling into the marketing end of the spectrum.
Photography
This is where it all began for me, long before I even graduated high school. When digging into a box of photos at my dad’s house a few years ago, I even found photos that I took with a polaroid camera when I was very young. Gradual steps up in camera equipment over the years just grew my interest and made photography one of the very first services I put on my list when planning out Pyrois Media.
Over the past two decades, I’ve worked hard to improve my photography and today it is a popular service at Pyrois Media. Most of my work is based around sales and racing, though I also work with the Retired Racehorse Project to provide show photos to former racing connections of horses competing at the Thoroughbred Makeover.
Research
At my very core, I am a proud nerd and the research service feeds my need to keep learning. I’m always looking into various stats and facts in a variety of industries and the love of information has paid off well for both my clients and myself. It’s not unusual for me to whip out my phone and look something up just because I’m curious and more than once, that information has made its way into something I’m doing for a client.
This service probably has my largest variety of projects. Not only do I look up various statistics and pedigree information but I also dig into industry figures at large. Included in that is a report that I wrote a few years ago looking at the health of the racing industry over a 20-year period. However, the most common use for this service is to research information on stallions and sales horses.
Social Media
My most popular service is my social media service. According to most statistics, social media is incredibly important for any business to utilize and that’s why it was one of the first three services I decided to include. Social media has drastically changed in the last few years, but it is also the service I take the most courses on to stay up to date with new trends and ways to improve the work I do.
This service has a varied use depending on each specific client. While I post results almost exclusively on one account, another client is an educational platform for the equine industry and others post a mix of results, educational content, and other information about their specific business.
Website Management
I built my first website back when GeoCities websites were popular in the late 1990s and continued to take website development classes throughout school. But once I started offering website services through Pyrois Media, I found that my perfect niche in the website part of the industry is on the management side.
What does that mean? It means that in some cases, I jump onto the team once it’s time to test the website and in others I jump on once the website is live. Once the website is built and bugs are taken care of by the development team, I’m the one in charge of making sure the site stays updated. For some clients, I’m the one in charge of researching to make sure that everything is completely updated at all times while other clients send me a list of things to do that week, complete with the information going on the site. I am very flexible with how I manage clients’ sites as I want to do whatever makes them most comfortable.
While each of these services can be used alone, most of my clients take advantage of multiple Pyrois Media offerings. If you’re interested in joining the Pyrois Media family, shoot an email to Melissa@Pyroismedia.com to chat today about my services and how I can help you reach your goals.
